Android 16 has a fairly important role in DBZ. Let me start off by stating
some facts about 16. First of all, he doesn't appear in Trunks's timeline. He was also Dr. Gero's strongest android. (In the
current DBZ timeline) Android 16 was released by Androids 17 and 18 shortly after Dr.Gero's "death". Dr.Gero said that 16
should not have been released because he was a prototype. We all know 17 and 18 don't take commands from anyone. 16 also refused
to fight the Z-Fighters. His only purpose was to destroy Goku. 16 was also the first android
to discover Cell's plans to absorb 17 and 18. He tried to persuade 17 and 18 to leave the island. Android 16 defended the
other two androids from Cell when Piccolo was too weak to. 16 put up a very good fight against Cell. Detatching his fists
to punch and fire energy were some of the attacks he used against Cell. But Cell eventually got 17. The transformed Cell was
too strong for 16. Cell destroyed half of 16's head. 18 carried 16 off the island and into a hiding place. When Cell managed
to find 18, 16 tried to fight off Cell. But 16 was too weak. After 18 was absorbed Krillin took 16 to get fixed by Dr. Briefs.
16 was repaired, and then he flew to the "Cell Games". 16 tried to destroy Cell by himself by using an internal bomb. Unfourtanatly,
Bulma and Dr. Briefs unknowingly removed the bomb from 16. When Cell discovered that 16's bomb was missing, he destroyed 16.
16's death was the final straw for Gohan. Seeing 16's sacrifice, Gohan transformed into Super Saiyan 2.
